Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to earn an attribute bonus or an additional effect, while the equipment is being worn. Certain upgrade components also have cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be acquired by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. Players can also find upgraded items by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging using a salvage of a higher tier kit. Glyphs, which are stored in tools for gathering are able to be exchanged without restriction.
The player can transform an item to upgrade it into another item by selecting it and pressing the green button an arrow for reroll.
